The Walvis Bay Backyard Tenants Association is excited to share a major development in our ongoing mission to secure land for our members. As part of the progress at Farm 37, which was recently approved by the Walvis Bay Town Council, land servicing has officially begun. This crucial step marks the beginning of transforming the allocated land into a livable and sustainable community for our members.
Farm 37, located approximately 10 kilometers outside Walvis Bay, has been designated as a solution to the town’s growing demand for land and housing since 2015. With the council’s recent approval, the servicing of the land is now underway, ensuring that the area is properly prepared for future construction and habitation. The image above captures this significant moment as heavy machinery starts the groundwork that will eventually pave the way for new homes.
While this is an exciting milestone, it’s important to remember that the journey is far from over. The Walvis Bay Backyard Tenants Association still awaits approval from the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, as well as the Namibia Planning Advisory Board (NAMPAB), before the land can be officially allocated to our members. However, the commencement of land servicing is a promising indication that we are on the right track.
This achievement reflects the determination and resilience of our community. The approval from the town council and the initiation of land servicing are the results of our collective efforts, and we are confident that these efforts will continue to bear fruit.

We thank everyone who has supported us along the way, and we look forward to keeping you informed as we continue this journey towards securing land and building a brighter future for our members at Farm 37. Stay tuned for more updates as we progress through the final stages of this important process.
